Supporting teachers and parents to help children achieve
As a trusted partner, we work with kindergartens and schools throughout Hong Kong to provide a tailored service that supports the specific needs of a child and is considerate of a school’s philosophy and environment. We believe in creating therapy programmes that are naturally integrated into school life.
Many of the children we work with in a school environment are referred by teachers who have recognised areas of challenge or difficulty. We begin by meeting with the school support team to gain an understanding of the school and its students before formulating a therapy service that best addresses the circumstances.
Two-way communication between therapists and parents is important to effective treatments and our participation in education plans and parent conferences makes our service unique. We see ourselves as a part of the broader school community, ready to support teachers and parents to help children achieve.
School-based therapies are provided in blocks of 9 sessions plus one feedback meeting to discuss goals and plan for the future. Therapies can be a combination of individual and group-based. Groups usually have 2-4 children maximum, or 5 children if an accompanying teacher or educational assistant is available to assist.
If you can see areas that Young Folk Therapy could provide value and support to your students, get in touch. We’re happy to discuss.
